Privacy Policy
This is a working draft published ahead of launch and will be replaced by the final reviewed policy. It reflects how Brylo is built today.
Brylo is built privacy-first. This policy explains what we store, why, and the control you keep over it.
Our approach
Brylo is built privacy-first. Everything you log — pregnancy, baby care, cycles, mood and notes — lives on your device by default. We only sync it to a private, per-account space when you sign in, and we never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
What we store
The entries you create (dates, measurements, photos you add, and your choices) and a small amount of account information when you register. Photos stay as files on your device until you choose cloud backup.
Health data
Pregnancy, baby, cycle and wellbeing entries are sensitive health data. We process them only to provide the tracking features you use, never for advertising, and never to make medical decisions on your behalf. We never use them for employment or insurance eligibility, or for any unauthorised sharing.
The community
If you join the parent community, the content you post is shared with other members. Specifically:
- Your chosen nickname and avatar, your posts and comments, and like counts are visible to other members.
- Reports and blocks you submit are used only for moderation and are not shown to the people you report or block.
- You must be 18+ to take part, and you accept the Community Guidelines before posting.
- You can delete your community content at any time; deleted authorship is anonymised to “[deleted user]”.
Analytics & diagnostics
If you opt in, Brylo collects anonymous usage and crash information through Firebase to find bugs and improve the app — for example device type, app version and which screens are opened. We never attach your names, notes or health entries to this. You can change this anytime in Settings.
Accounts & sign-in
Brylo works fully anonymously by default — no account, no email, your data on this device only. Creating an account is optional and exists so you can back up and sync. When you choose to, you can sign in with email and password (and, on supported devices, with Apple or Google). We store your email and a secure authentication token so we can recognise you across devices — never your password, which is handled by our authentication provider. You can reset your password by email, sign out to return to anonymous mode, or delete your account at any time.
Services we use
Brylo's cloud features run on Firebase by Google (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Crashlytics, Analytics and Cloud Messaging), which processes data on our behalf under Google's terms. Cloud data is stored in the European Union (europe-west3, Frankfurt).
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data. The fastest route to deletion is in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account); you can also email privacy@brylo.app and we will verify and act on your request. EU/EEA and UK users have rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Your control
You can turn analytics off, sign out to keep using Brylo anonymously, and delete your account and its synced data at any time. Deleting your account permanently removes your synced information from our systems; data already stored on your device stays until you remove the app.
